Why Women feel Weak and Dull During their Period
Menstrual cycle affects balance and physical fitness in women. They tend to feel very weak and dull during their period.
Put in another way, the women tend to perform physical activities and also have a better central nervous system balance when they are not in their period.
In a study carried out by Ayşegül DEMİR, Rasmi MUAMMER*
It was observed that women are more physically fit outside their menstrual period.
Ayşegül DEMİR, Rasmi MUAMMER who sampled some group of girls of average of 22 years and tested their sense of balance and physical fitness. Static balance, that is, their ability to be balanced when not in motion, was evaluated using one leg standing and Dynamic balance mwas evaluated using one leg Standing test on trampoline.
These tests for balance were both carried out during the menstrual period and outside the menstrual period.
At the end, the conclusion was that the effect of menstrual period on the balance and physical fitness is on the down side. Women are usually unfit during their menses. They are weak and tired.
The menstrual period actually decreases the ability of women to balance and maintain physical fitness. Therefore women are better fit and maintain balance when not in their menstrual period.
These findings are in keeping with the fact that women during their menstrual periods usually avoid work not just because they must avoid stress but because they are loosing blood and the body compensates the acute blood loss by shutting down most other body metabolic activities. Hence they feel weak and tired.
That is also why when a woman is severely ill, the menstrual period tends to stop.
The reason is not because their is always problem with genital systems, no, it is because the body is trying to be conservative.
The body knows loosing blood when you are ill is very deteriorating and will exacerbate the whatever sickness you may have, thus it shuts down the menstrual pathway until it feels that the body is very fit to loose blood without dire consequences.
That is not all. You you are seeing your period, you are loosing blood. Blood transports oxygen in the body.
So loosing blood, especially in large in quantity can causes anaemia. This causes weakness, and you feel dull.
Also, most ladies feel pain during their period. The pain is enough incapacitating factor.
The menstrual pain can be severe a times that you cannot lay your hands on anything. This leads to weakness and you appear dull.
